Helpful Hints To Sell Your Home For More!

First National Real Estate can help you sell your home quickly for the best possible price. Here are some tips that have proven to be invaluable to the successful home seller.

First Impressions Are Lasting

A good rule of thumb is to start at the front gate of your own home and walk through the property as if you were buying it. Make certain that plants are trimmed, lawn mowed, gutters are cleaned and the windows sparkle. Gardens beds should be freshly mulched to enhance the appearance of your yard and garden. Toys, sporting equipment, garden tools, pet toys and pet bedding should be stored away.

Painting can be your best 'dollar fo dollar' return and make sure to replace old fashioned globes with bright new one's and update halogen downlights with LED.

Make sure that all minor repairs are completed. Sticking doors and windows, loose doorknobs, faulty plumbing, peeling paint or faulty flywire may affect your sale.

A Tidy Home Ensures An Open For Inspection Is Welcoming

Your home should be kept neat and tidy during the period of inspections. The home should create an inviting atmosphere by ensuring the rooms are not cluttered and the arrangement of furniture is in a comfortable/ functional position. Utilise fresh flowers, indoor plants and paintings/prints as they always brighten up a home.

Let The Sun Shine In

Let there be light! Nothing improves the feel of a home more than natural light. Open blinds and drapes fully and consider removal of older heavy lace curtains. Your rooms will be brighter and feel larger.

Make Them Comfortable

A warm home on cold days creates a feeling of cosiness. On a hot day don’t forget to turn on the air conditioning or fan (or simply let the breeze flow through).

Music In The Air And Pets Underfoot

As a general rule, it is advisable to turn off the radio and television during an inspection (as they can be distracting). If you have pets, it is advisable to keep them out of the house. Let the First National Real Estate Agent and potential buyer talk, free of disturbances.
